We offer free
guided tours and short walks around the farm, as well as the opportunity
for groups to pursue special interests. Our farming system and the local
heritage and landscape provide a fantastic learning resource, and for
many visitors it is the first time they have come to a farm. Julia Hawley,
a trained guide and speaker will tailor your groups visit to give you
a unique experience.
As well as many school visits, organised with
the support of the EcoCentre at King Edward 7 School in Melton Mowbray,
we welcome adult groups.
Past visitors have included informal study groups
(e.g. WEA, U3A) looking at butterflies, dragonflies and birds. Organisations
such as Citizens Advice Bureau and Leicestershire Rural Partnership
have benefited from agricultural awareness tours and talks, providing
insight into the issues facing farmers today. We also organise some
general interest walks for the wider public, providing an opportunity
for local people to visit a farm to find out about food and farming
as well as the conservation work we are doing.

Julia is also available as a speaker on farming
and conservation topics for social and special interest groups –
a small fee is charged for these.
